Abstract:
In MRI, The B1+ distribution of RF field have an great significance in many aspects of MRI, particular for quantitative MRI. There are many methods have been proposed for B1+ mapping. These methods have several restrictions, such as long TR or scan time. In this regard, we propose a novel method for rapidly B1+ mapping based on the method of variable flip angles (VFA). Flip angle correction factors were introduced for B1+ mapping using the signal intensity ratio of three images measured at three proportional excitation angles, and then to solve the equation to achieve the B1+ map. The new method was compared with the double angle method (DAM) in several phantom and in vivo experiments at 1.5Tesla. In phantom experiments, an accurate B1+ map was obtained using the new method. The resulting B1+ maps had a decreased repetition time (TR) and were in excellent agreement. In brain and leg imaging, the method obtained B1+ maps even when TR<
