Abstract:
Piezoelectric transducers are widely used in industry applications. If it is necessary to have low distortion and reasonable control on the amplitude of the transducer voltage, linear amplifiers are still used. In order to reduce losses and increase the power density, switched-mode power supplies are employed for higher power levels. A LCC converter reaches high efficiencies and generates a sinusoidal output voltage if it is operated close to its resonance frequency. Since the switching frequency is determined by the mechanical resonance frequency of the transducer, it cannot be used to control the output voltage. Hence, this paper discusses a LCC resonant converter with phase shift control.
