Abstract:
Recently, an asynchronous binary propagation network was suggested to be used in particle detectors. The implementation realized certain neighborhood operations and was similar in nature to the cellular array processor operation with binary images. On another occasion, the authors have introduced their own binary propagation network design that converges to one active pixel per connected component. Although the network presented by the authors is multi purpose, application wise, in this paper we give comparison to the particle detector hardware performance in accuracy, power and speed performance.
