Abstract:
A modular hardware in the loop (HiL) simulator is presented. It can emulate battery cells with voltages between 0 V and 6 V and currents up to ±6 A. In the future this will be increased to ±18 A. Emulated cells can be connected in series or parallel. Compared with conventional battery simulators, this system can be used to test reconfigurable batteries, which can change their topology during runtime by implementing individually isolated linear power stages.
