Abstract:
The SAFT Bordeaux Engineering team managed to run a multi Megawatt scale battery container at full power in a novel architecture making the power exchanged with the test bench very low compared to the high current and voltage of battery container under test. The principle was to put batteries in opposition in order to test high power batteries without huge power consumption. Vtotal = 0 in theory, but actually a voltage unbalance between even and odd batteries is introduced to cancel voltage drop due to Battery internal resistance Ri.
