Abstract:
Compared with traditional PFC converters, Bridgeless PFC reduces the conduction losses since the power conversion is performed by only one stage. However, the input current measurement is floating, increasing the circuit complexity and cost. This paper proposes a solution that avoids the use of the sensor of the input current. Instead, the current is rebuilt inside a digital device (FPGA) by integrating the voltage across the input inductor over time. Transistors switching time unbalance are assessed to match the estimated and actual current.
