Abstract:
A bidirectional high power factor AC to DC converter without current sensor is presented. The power stage is a Boost Full-Bridge topology. The switching signals are generated by a digital circuit implemented in a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), measuring only the AC input and the DC output voltages. The current through the inductor is inferred by taking into account the state of the switches (S1, S2, S3 and S4) with an algorithm that emulates the converter operation.
