Abstract:
Tethered interference cancelation is an important operation in a multitude of scenarios, both commercial (named “full-duplex” operation) as well as military (interference excision). The fundamental assumption behind active or tethered cancellation is that a copy of the interference is available in realtime, and its removal therefore is somehow possible. We discuss the basic concepts of and issues related to active cancellation, present relevant architectures, and conclude with comparisons between the two types of applications.
