Abstract:
In industrial communications, especially in automation and control systems, data transmission shall be robust, of low-latency and energy-efficient. Adaptive modulation could be used to fulfill these requirements, where modulation schemes are adapted to current channel states. In this contribution, an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based system with adaptive modulation is considered, where signalling is used to inform the receiver about the adapted modulation schemes. System performance in terms of frame error ratio (FER) is compared between fixed modulation and adaptive modulation with the proposed signalling schemes.
