Abstract:
This paper investigates the achievable rate of multicarrier systems with non-linear distortion caused by high power amplifier (HPA) at the transmitter. We derive mutual information expressions for several non-linear models of HPA. Specific results are given for different values of the input backoff. It is shown that for some cases, linearization of HPA is not the best strategy. Index Terms—High power amplifier, Mutual information, Multicarrier systems.
