Abstract:
This paper presents a method for rejecting the adjacent channel interference (ACI) between the 802.11 based OFDM channels. The proposed approach is based on a well known in the literature successive interference cancellation (SIC). In the paper, a simplified model of two neighboring OFDM channels is considered. Two wireless local area network (WLAN) users, asynchronous to each other, occupy the adjacent, non-overlapping 20 MHz channels. It is shown how the 40 MHz receiver, which has a sum of two arriving asynchronous 20 MHz OFDM signals, is able to reject the ACI in a few iterative steps. The capability to eliminate ACI is presented by means a of simulation. Some features of the ACI are also analyzed in the paper.
