Abstract:
This paper presents a formulation of outage planning for electric power facilities treated as a combinatorial optimization problem considering power supply reliability. Since finding out an optimal solution for this problem is so hard due to combinatorial explosions, we intend to apply Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique, which is improved to heighten the searching ability. We also consider generating system configurations during outage works because the proposed method only makes system configurations except the target outage works. To avoid the increase in the number of combinations with respect to power facilities, we propose a method for generating a system configuration within the limitation of Hamming distance from the normal system.
