Abstract:
Plastic optical fiber (POF) has been established in unique datacom markets such as digital audio interfaces, factory automations and automotive LANs. Low-loss graded index POF has opened a new market of customer premises network in recent years. The status of POF technology towards broadband network is reviewed.
