Abstract:
Temperature-insensitive strain measurement is realized by using a polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fibre (PM-PCF) Sagnac interferometer. The achieved sensitivity is 0.23 pm/muepsilon. The measurement range, by stretching the PM-PCF only, is up to 32 mepsilon.
