Abstract:
Interleaved power converters are now widely used because they generate an apparent switched voltage at a frequency equal to the switching frequency multiplied by the number of cells which allows reducing the output filter. This advantage can be maximised by using a high number of cells, but other constraints limit existing designs to relatively small number of cells. This paper addresses interleaved parallel converters and shows how the magnetic components can be optimized to allow high number of cells.
