Abstract:
The paper presents the current state of the Space Synthetic Aperture Radar (SSAR) project, which is a part of the European Student Moon Orbiter (ESMO) project. The aim of our group is to analyze, design and manufacture the radar, which will be used to create a three-dimensional map of the Moon's surface with the use of the IfSAR technology. The radar will be installed on the ESMO micro satellite. The satellite lunch is planned for year 2010. The ESMO is the third student project sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA) as a part of the students' activities called the Student Space Exploration & Technology Initiative (SSETI).
