Abstract:
A direct conversion digital radar receiver for the VHF SAR has been developed. The receiver allows instantaneous reception of a 25 – 85 MHz band with the required high linear dynamic range. Sub-band selection is achieved in the digital domain. The solution has several advantages compared to conventional heterodyne receiver for the same application – unit cost is low, the solution is flexible and the same design can be used for all types of VHF SAR from large long range and wide swath systems to small short range systems on light UAVs.
