Abstract:
The German SAR satellite TerraSAR-X is to be launched in 2006. The instrument’s flexibility and the capabilities of the operational TerraSAR-X Multi-Mode SAR Processor (TMSP) allow a huge variety of product types and variants for numerous applications. A wide product palette has been defined to meet the needs of the user community. However, a consistent and hierarchical product tree originating from the same processor for all imaging modes is established. The level 1b product format is chosen to contain components and parameters common to all product types which are extended by product variant specific data and information. An overview of the operationally delivered basic products and their characteristic parameters is given. Processing steps which directly influence the product performance are described. The product format is detailed and its potential for post-processing and value adding is investigated.
