Abstract:
TRIAS, developed by IDEO Laboratories in close cooperation with the Technische Universität Ilmenau (TU Ilmenau), is a flexible tool for planning and optimization of large networks. TRIAS is a multi-environment and multi-user tool. It can be used on a single machine, in connection with a server farm or by interconnecting the different components through the Internet. TRIAS consists of a flexible graphical user interface (GUI) which is dynamically created based on information stored in a database. This allows adapting the software to the rights of a particular user and to the specific application area TRIAS is used for. The GUI can be connected to multiple servers providing different algorithms even when implemented in different programming languages. Up to now TRIAS is able to control Matlab-based implementations as well as binaries on Linux- or Windows-based systems. It is designed in such a way that new algorithms can be integrated employing a Plug-and-Play mechanism.
