Abstract:
In this paper we propose an empirical model for the inter-cell interference factor (also known as f factor or out-cell interference factor) in the uplink of a CDMA (Code-Division Multiple-Access) cellular system. The empirical model is introduced for various scenarios. Our simulation results, as well as results found in literature, are compared with the predictions of the empirical model. With the aid of the proposed model we show a new means to calculate the cell capacity of a CDMA system for a given outage probability.
