Optical Switching Challenges for the Post-Moore’s Law Era

Abstract:
This invited talk will review the historical background why the demise of Moore’s law and the scaling of large language models is leading to the increased interest in optical switching and discuss the opportunities and challenges of optical switches with respect to different switching speeds.
