Abstract:
We experimentally demonstrate for the first time a laser linearization method of directly modulated lasers (DMLs) for carrier-less amplitude and phase (CAP) modulation. The method enables 25 Gb/s CAP-4 and 32 Gb/s CAP-16 transmissions using a VCSEL specified for 10 Gb/s operation.
