Ultralow-crosstalk, Electro-optic Microdisk Optical Switch Fabric Incorporating Si-SiN-SIN Tri-layer Shuffle

Abstract:
We present for the first time an 8×8 electro-optic microdisk switch incorporating a Si-SiN-SiN tri-layer shuffle. This device exhibits ultralow-crosstalk in the range of -42.8 to -51.9dB with an on-chip loss of as low as 8.7dB. Nanosecond-scale switching time and >86GHz passband are also demon-strated.
