Abstract:
We experimentally show that results of fibre-longitudinal power monitor have a strong depend-ency on probing signal patterns. By averaging power profiles estimated using multiple patterns, we ob-serve a power-profile SNR improvement of 5.1 dB, reliably localizing a 0.72-dB loss anomaly even at optimal launch power.
