Optical Phased Arrays for Wireless Connectivity

Abstract:
Optical wireless communication (OWC) can deliver abundant and affordable internet in concert with fiber and equipment operating in the Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum. In this paper, we focus on recent developments in the silicon photonic integrated circuit industry enabling the use of the Optical Phased Array (OPA) for a cost-effective, high bandwidth OWC.
