Abstract:
This research investigates the application of high-strength conductive aggregate in concrete for lightning protection. Various materials were used to optimize the compressive strength, and also the conductive concrete's response to simulated lightning conditions was systematically examined. Detailed aggregate information, encompassing type, source, and properties, highlights the crucial role of increased surface area for improved conductivity. The study emphasizes compliance with IEC 62561-Part 7 standards, elucidating key criteria for effective lightning pro-tection. Environmental considerations address adherence to REACH and RoHS standards, ensuring the ecological sustainability of the conductive concrete. Comprehensive strength testing, with a focus on compressive strength, provides crucial insights into material durability. The investigation into surface area reduction through particle size modulation is paired with an examination of water content optimization, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the concrete mix. The impact of increased water content on the conductive concrete is rigorously assessed to determine the optimal water percentage for peak performance. This research contributes valuable technical advancements in the realm of lightning protection, offering insights into conductive aggregate properties, manufacturing processes, and environmental resilience, validated through meticulous testing methodologies.
