Abstract:
Lightning impulse tests were conducted using a 100 kW wind turbine located in Iwaki-no-sato Onigajo. In the experiment, a current of several tens of amperes, simulating a lightning current waveform, was injected into the foundation of the wind turbine, and the grounding characteristics of the wind turbine were obtained. In this paper, we acquire the transient grounding characteristics of a 100 kW wind turbine through impulse tests, and based on the experimental results, we develop an analysis model using the XTAP (eXpandable-Transient-Analysis-Program) and FDTD (Finite-Difference Time-Domain) methods. Then, we compared the experimental results and analysis results.
