Abstract:
Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) has transformed surgery by reducing invasiveness and post-operative pain. Traditional pneumatic actuators, while effective, often suffer from high-pressure range and complex fabrication steps. This paper introduces a compact origami-based actuator optimized for elongation within the MIS-size range. Our study demonstrates a strain within the range of 130%, offering more efficient surgical tools.
