Abstract:
The design, fabrication and characterization of RC snubber circuit is presented. One of the characteristics of this circuit is that it consists of a resistor embedded directly inside the PCB. The evolution of the electrical resistance as a function of the applied current, its dependence on the temperature, maximum power dissipation, as well as the frequency characterization are also presented. The main objectives of this approach is to maximize the resistor surface for power dissipation and also minimize the serial parasitic inductance of the snubber.
