Abstract:
In this work, recent enhancements on PREDICS, effective simulation software for fast calculation of radar cross section (RCS) and inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) images from electrically big and complex-shaped objects at high frequencies are presented. The accuracy of RCS/ISAR simulations have been improved by the addition of physical theory of diffraction (PTD) solver to the software. The accuracy of this improvement has been tested via a measured RCS result from a canonical object. Also, many improvements on the post processing screens of PREDICS are shared. These includes but not limited to full polarization availability including all linear/circular polarizations, addition of two-dimensional (2D) RCS map menu to the RCS post-processing screen, introduction of range-profile post-processing screen, and many other effective additions to the ISAR post-processing screen.
