Abstract:
The ICEYE constellation features the first operational microsatellite based X-band SAR sensors suitable for all-weather day-and-night Earth Observation. As the ICEYE fleet grows it is opening up opportunities for experimentation and the derivation of new products. This paper presents an update on the ICEYE fleet’s capabilities as of middle 2023. We pursue the extent of access angles for microsatellites equipped with small-area antennas while maintaining the quality and interpretability of the products. Discussing preliminary results on an extension of incidence angles of stripmap mode up to 40 degrees and spotlight mode up to 45 degrees, as well as techniques employed to achieve this improvement in access. We also introduce new Dwell imaging mode and associated products.
