Abstract:
High reproducibility of signal has been achieved by Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) due to its flexible operability. This feature makes SAR a reliable monitoring tool especially for change detection. Though many information extraction techniques by Polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) data have been proposed, solid change detection technique has never been realized by overlooking essential property of PolSAR data. In this paper, polarimetric sensitivity in time was firstly defined, and then maximization technique of the sensitivity by carefully choosing polarization basis was newly proposed. The technique was validated by time-series PolSAR images obtained by ALOS-2. The sensitivity in time was significantly improved.
