Abstract:
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) mode design makes a tradeoff between resolution and swath width to achieve highresolution and wide-swath imaging by controlling beam scanning. Sparse SAR imaging can obtain high-quality images by solving the regularization problem, and has shown huge potential in system performance improvement, such as wider swath coverage, less data amount, and lower sidelobes, which shows another option for high-resolution and wide-swath imaging. This paper introduces the mode design framework of spaceborne sparse SAR imaging system. Compared with traditional SAR imaging mode, sparse SAR imaging mode can improve swath coverage without changing other system parameters, and obtain the high-quality images from down-sampled data with less artifacts.
