Abstract:
Due to the excellent compatibility of the Wishart classifier with various polarimetric modes, it is frequently employed to assess and compare the classification performance of different polarimetric modes. This paper introduces an innovative classification framework founded on the Wishart statistical model. To validate this novel framework, a comparative analysis of classification performance is conducted between quadrature-polarimetric (QP) and hybrid compact-polarimetric (HCP) data, utilizing the Lutan-1 (LT-1) dataset acquired from Hami City. The experimental results highlight that, even in scenarios with complex scattering mechanisms, HCP mode yields classification results that are on par with those achieved using QP mode.
