Abstract:
Persistent Scatterer Deformation Pattern Analysis Tool (PSDefoPAT) was implemented to extract relevant information on the kinematics of observed ground surface deformation from advanced differential synthetic aperture radar interferometry data sets. The tool assigns each displacement time series of such a data set a best-fitting time series model based on hypothesis tests. However, an intuitive concept for the visualization of the data is needed to facilitate an easy analysis and interpretation of the uncovered information. In this paper, we will outline our first draft of such a concept. The presented user interface provides the analyst with colorized maps of selected features of the estimated time series models and the option to create customized RGB triplet maps. The advantages of analyzing the extracted information in a spatial context are illustrated based on a demonstration case. The area of the demonstration case is located in the north-west of the Peloponnese peninsula, which is subject to a number of ground surface deformation phenomena.
