Abstract:
The development of modern heterogeneous systems requires careful integration of manifold domains as they are usually tightly interwoven. Virtual protoypes (VPs) have evolved as an effective method for hardware/software integration as they enable co-simulating digital hardware and software components. Extending these by other disciplines (e.g. analog, mechanical) is thus a promising approach for improved development methodologies in heterogeneous systems. This paper presents our recent activities on heterogeneous VPs for the application of smart sensor development. We thereby focus on the requirements to these VPs and their impact on the development flow. Further details to the individual methods can be found in our corresponding publications.
