Abstract:
Worldwide, the era of decarbonization is changing many sectors, bringing them toward a new business model - the so-called Green Economy. Decarbonization is achieved through two main pillars: by replacing fossil-based power generation with distributed renewable energy resources such as photovoltaic and wind, and through upgrading end-user technologies. Such upgrades cover many energy-related aspects and sectors with one of the most important of them being the electrification of the transportation sector, particularly for highly used fleets. This paper presents a new Monte Carlo engine simulator platform, intended to simulate the impact of the short-term uncertainties that alter the daily/weekly energy management of the electric vehicle fleet at the depot level. Capability and key features are shown on a case study for a public transportation bus fleet.
