Abstract:
We consider lattice-reduction-aided preequalization to achieve physical-layer security in a MIMO setup using wireless THz-Communication. Preequalization is performed with respect to the legitimate receiver, consequently, an eavesdropper has to perform residual equalization. We evaluate the performance of both the legitimate receiver and the eavesdropper in an indoor environment. It is shown that security can be achieved by using preequalization if the access of an eavesdropper to the direct proximity of the transmitter or receiver can be prevented. Moreover, it is shown that in contrast to classical linear preequalization, using lattice-reduction-aided preequalization, an eavesdropper cannot gain the necessary channel knowledge to be able to perform successful equalization and recover the sent data symbols.
