Abstract:
In some industrial fields, a production of a monodisperse emulsion is desired in terms of stability. Therefore, there is a demand for an apparatus which can classificate droplets which have desired diameter from multi disciplinal emulsion. In this study, a device for a droplet manipulation using acoustic radiation force for the purpose of producing monodisperse emulsion has been fabricated and evaluated. The manipulation condition in the flow channel. has been simulated by using finite element method. Furthermore, we conducted droplet manipulation experiment by using ultrasonic vibration device, and compared with theoretical droplet behaviour. As a result, we have obtained the driving condition for droplet operation.
