Abstract:
Azimuth multichannel synthetic aperture radar (SAR) working in the terrain observation by progressive scans (TOPS) mode can effectively obtain images with ultra-wide swath and high spatial resolution. However, the azimuth beam rotation within the entire observation time results in the phenomenon of azimuth phase center fluctuation (APCF), which may cause phase mismatches between channels and should be calibrated in order to avoid azimuth ambiguity. This paper analyses the APCF phenomenon caused by different beam steering laws. This provide a basis for the selection of beam steering laws and phase mismatch calibration process. A simulation experiment is carried out to show the influence of beam rotation in different laws on azimuth imaging results.
