Abstract:
High resolution squint spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) will play an important role in the future due to its flexibility of observation. However, the precision of the range model is becomes much important as the synthetic aperture time will significantly increase in this case. In this paper, the classic range models, including the hyperbolic range equation (HRE), the advanced hyperbolic range equation (AHRE), the fourth-order doppler range model (DRM4), the Modified Equivalent Squint Range Model (MESRM), are introduced and analyzed in detail. Then, a modified hyperbolic range equation (MHRE) by adding high order compensation items to the HRE is proposed for high resolution large squint spaceborne SAR. Finally, the simulations are carried out to compare the precision of the range models and all the results verify the effectiveness of the proposed range model.
