Abstract:
Monitoring capabilities of Interferometric/Tomographic SAR operating at full resolution are remarkable, but can be impaired in low signal-to-noise areas. Real scenarios on the Earth surface may be frequently characterized by a mixture of highly correlated, anthropic areas and distributed scattering natural zones, the latter being much more affected by decorrelation. 3D imaging and monitoring performances may be therefore degraded. The possibility to carry out a variable multi-look degree, able to adaptively handle both concentrated persistent and distributed scatterers, is therefore of interest. In this work we explore the potentialities related to the use of multi-resolution approach in SAR Tomography processing.
