Abstract:
Silicone stack transducers are electrostatically actuated so-called “artificial muscles” for which manufacturing by printing is done at Sateco XT AG. This concept enables a high flexibility in design and paves the way for miniaturization of mechanical transducers. The benefits of the technology for integration into complex systems are discussed and exemplary implementation is shown in demonstrators for human-machine interfaces. The transducer is used to create a tactile stimulus for haptic feedback and to change the surfaces appearance by protruding buttons-on-demand or morphing the texture.
