Abstract:
In this paper a concept of a smart self-sufficient wireless current sensor is presented. This concept enables monitoring of machineries in smart factories for process optimization and predictive maintenance purposes. Due to wireless operation and energy harvesting retrofitting is able without effort. A smart signal processing makes determination of machine states possible without the need of a high numbers of traditional single sensors. It is shown that an accordingly suitable artificial neuronal network (ANN) can be implemented in a low power microcontroller as part of the current sensor and be powered by energy harvesting using the magnetic stray field of an enclosed conductor.
