Abstract:
Laser-Ultrasonics has become a versatile tool for material characterization, which enables the determination of various material properties. Suitable combinations of excitation and detection schemes together with advanced analysis methods allow the characterization of minute material changes in industrial processes. Because there are many degrees of freedom regarding the Laser-Ultrasonic source and detection schemes, like different laser spot geometries or laser parameters, the influence of the excitation/detection combination needs to be precisely analysed before measurements can be evaluated.
