Abstract:
In previous studies, we found that the handling of the textural similarity between heaps of debris and high vegetation in SAR images is a challenge. Nevertheless, we were able to show that features exist, which are sensitive to a small but distinct textural difference. Since those analyses were based only on a single data set, it is crucial to analyze the stability of these textural features related to phenological changes. In this paper, the phenologically caused variation of the SAR signature of high vegetation, especially forest areas, is studied. For this, two time series recorded by TerraSAR-X in High-Resolution Spotlight mode are exploited.
