Abstract:
Increasing cell sizes of dye sensitized solar cells lead to a raise of the series resistance, due to the high sheet resistances of the usually used TCO-coated substrates. Therefore new innovative electrodes have to be developed to enable large-area devices. Using micro structured metallic grids on glass substrates it is possible to decrease the sheet resistance to values of less than 1 Ω/□. Thereby fill factors of more than 0.73 can be achieved even for cells with a size of 7.59 cm2.
