Abstract:
Modern logistics requires precise tracking of objects. One way to achieve such tracking is via angle-of-arrival estimation with antenna arrays. Common approaches to high-resolution angle-of-arrival estimation require coherent reception of all antenna elements. However, it may be cheaper to cover the same aperture with just the outer antenna elements, while resolving ambiguity with two elements in half-wavelength spacing. We give bounds on the achievable accuracy with such an approach and provide measurements as proof-of-concept.
