Abstract:
Tandem-L is the proposal for a unique spaceborne SAR mission dedicated to monitor dynamic processes on the earth. The mission acquires data for a multitude of different scientific communities which try to find answers on urgent questions concerning ecological and geological processes. A mission serving several different applications requires a thorough planning of the acquisitions. A timeline has to be derived considering all relevant scientific and instrument constraints. As the Tandem-L mission comprises of two radar satellites, the formation to be flown has to be set up and adjusted to enable proper data acquisition. The presented observation concept shows the feasibility of the mission in terms of number of required acquisitions and required formations in order to meet the scientific requirements.
