Abstract:
The work addresses a comparison analysis between two parametric Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar motion compensation techniques. The two analyzed techniques are: the Doppler Parameters Estimation Algorithm (DPEA) and the Image Contrast Based Technique (ICBT). The DPEA technique is based on the estimation of two Doppler key Parameters: the Doppler centroid and the Doppler rate, which are related to the target motion parameters. On the other hand, the ICBT estimates the motion compensation parameters by adopting an exhaustive search algorithms of functions based on image contrast by implementing very efficient convex optimization tools. The comparison analysis has been carried out by processing ISAR real data acquired by the NATO SET-196 Research Task Group during the Join Trials near the Livorno Bay (Italy) in 2014.
